What’s the Next Audi e-tron Model Going to Be

Only a few days after the official reveal of the Audi Q4 e-tron, another all-electric concept from Audi was released — the A6 e-tron. While the A6 e-tron is still a concept, a production version is on the way and it’s likely going to look very much like the car we see in the photos. And there are plenty more just like it on the way, as Audi wants to have twenty all-electric cars on sale by 2025. Considering it currently has eight; Audi e-tron SUV, e-tron Sportback, e-tron S, e-tron S Sportback, e-tron GT, Q4 e-tron, Q4 e-tron Sportback, and now the A6 e-tron, there are still plenty left to come. So what’s next?

Our best guess is an Audi Q6 e-tron, which will be a sporty looking SUV that should act as an all-electric Q8 of sorts. It will get a sporty Sportback roofline, along with Q7/Q8-levels of cabin space, and, of course, and all-electric powertrain. The only real question is whether it will be more or less luxurious than the aforementioned Q7 and Q8.

We know the Audi Q6 e-tron is coming, as we’ve seen some spy photos of it already. Because we’ve already seen some spy photos, we’re assuming that it’s the upcoming e-tron vehicle closest to production, which means it should be the next one.

When the Audi Q6 e-tron does hit production, it will be built on the brand’s new PPE architecture, the same one that underpins the A6 e-tron concept. PPE is shared by Audi and Porsche and will serve as the basis for all medium-to-large electric vehicles for both brands. So expect the next-gen Porsche Macan and Panamera to share PPE as well.

We don’t know Audi’s upcoming plans for sure but if we had to venture a guess, we’d say that the Audi Q6 e-tron is going to be the next electric vehicle on the way. If you’re in the market for an EV SUV from Audi but the Q4 e-tron is just too small, stay tuned.
