Watches & Cars: Bob’s Watches provides Pre-Owned/Vintage Rolex Timepieces for enthusiasts

We preach buying pre-owned watches quite often, actually. Much like with pre-owned cars, great deals can be found on premium timepieces when you open the scope of your search to include pre-owned watches. Though many customers fear that if they go the pre-owned route, they might not be getting certified, authentic watches, which is a frightening prospect when you’re spending big bucks on a premium piece. However, there are a few places where you can get pre-owned watches that are certified-authentic and worry-free. Bob’s Watches is one of them but with a twist that makes them stand out and here’s why. Especially if you like Rolex.

But before we get into the why, let’s talk about the who.

If you aren’t already aware, Bob’s sells high-quality, pre-owned and vintage Rolex timepieces. In fact, Bob’s is the first and only Rolex Exchange, where customers can buy and sell authentic pre-owned Rolexes.

Rolex is, of course, a great brand and one of the finest makers of watches on the planet. Much like Audi, Rolex makes impeccably built products with understated styling and timeless designs. A Rolex might not be the flashiest watch in the world but Audis famously aren’t the flashiest cars in the world, either. Though, both are built with truly exceptional craftsmanship and design.

QuattroDaily’s Pick

Of all Rolexes Bob’s currently sells, we think the best pick for an Audi enthusiast is the Rolex GMT-Master II ref. 116710. GMT stands for Greenwich Mean Time, which is sort of used by English speaking countries as the universal navigation time reference. The Rolex GMT watch was originally created to meet the needs of pilots, with a 24-hour, two-tone bezel, with the two different colors representing day and night. It also comes with a fourth hand on the face, which represents a second time zone.

We chose the GMT-Master II because it’s not only a gorgeous and sophisticated watch but it’s also one that’s intelligently designed and features interesting technology. It’s as much a tool as it is jewelry and that sort of reminds us of many of Audi’s best cars, which are both beautiful and boast impressive functionality. Also, you can see the GMT being worn with either a pilot’s flight suit or a tuxedo.

Bob’s Pick

We reached out to the people at Bob’s Watches to choose a Rolex for Audi owners and the watch chosen was the Rolex Daytona. If you’re a car enthusiast and/or even remotely interested in motorsport, you’ve likely heard of the Daytona. It was the go-to watch for racing drivers and motoring enthusiasts when it was first launched in the early 1960’s. One of the most famous Daytona wearers was Paul Newman, whose 1969 Rolex Daytona 6239 was actually auctioned off by Bob’s for a whopping $215,000.

More specifically than just the Daytona, Bob’s suggests the Rolex Daytona 116500, which is one of the hottest watches on the market at the moment. At the moment, Bob’s has two listed for sale, both stainless steel with black ceramic bezels. But one has a black face with black subdials trimmed in white and the other has a white face with white subdials trimmed in black (seen in photos above).

The Daytona is simply one of the coolest watches ever made, thanks to not only its timeless design but its motorsport history and the famous wrists on which it’s been worn. So it’s really quite difficult to choose a better watch for Audi enthusiasts.

Bob’s has an enormous selection of pre-owned and vintage timepieces from a variety of generations. But if you ask them, the watch for BMW enthusiasts is the Rolex Submariner.
