For those that might not be aware, FCP Euro is one of the bigger online retail shops for Audi parts in the U.S. We’ve used them several times and they have everything you could need for an Audi, BMW or really any German car (this isn’t sponsored by them, I’ve genuinely been buying parts from FCP for years). But FCP Euro is located in the U.S., so seeing an Audi S3 Sportback in their garage is unusual but also cool.
As mentioned in this video, the Audi S3 Sportback is forbidden fruit here in the ‘States. Audi has never sold an A3/S3 Sportback of any kind here in America. Instead, we only get sedan versions which aren’t bad but not as great as the more practical hatchback.
This specific Audi S3 Sportback has been tuned a bit by APR but the video doesn’t really go into detail about its specs or tune. Instead, we get a bit of a walkaround of the car, with an explanation of the car and what it’s like to drive and live with. Most Americans don’t really appreciate the practicality of a small hatchback, as we tend to think gargantuan SUVs are necessary for having even one child. However, hatchbacks like the Audi S3 Sportback can provide all of the practicality that anyone truly needs. As pointed out in this video, Europeans get that better than Americans do.
Unfortunately, we won’t ever get the better looking, more practical S3 Sportback here in the ‘States. We will get the S3 Sedan but that won’t be for some time, likely 2022, and when that time finally comes, we’ll be happy it’s here but still long for the hatchback version. Maybe Audi will notice that the Audi RS6 Avant is selling incredibly well and will start to bring more cool cars over.
