As much as the new C8 Audi RS6 Avant is stealing headlines with its easy tuning, don’t sleep on the last-gen C7 version. This new RS6 might be the big news but the older car is still damn good and can still easily be tuned to make monstrous power and performance.
In this new video from AutoTopNL, you can see a last-gen Audi RS6 Avant, tuned to make 700 horsepower from its own 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8, hit 200 mph on the Autobahn.
We don’t know the exact state of the tune for this RS6 but we do now that it makes 700 horsepower. Whatever was done to it has made it an absolute monster. It just relentlessly piles on speed, even as it nears 200 mph. It just seems to never stop accelerating in an almost frightening way.
Being a German car, the speedometer is obviously in km/h. The top end of the speedo shows 320 km/h, which is just a hair shy of 200 mph, the holy grail of performance car speeds, and you get to see the RS6 hit that top speed in this video. Actually, it surpasses the the speedo’s 320 km/h top readout and gets to 324 km/h before finally called it quits. When it hits that 324 km/h, the speedometer actually zeros out, with the needle dropping back to zero.
Going 200 mph in a five-seat family wagon on the Autobahn is absolutely insane, in the best of ways. The fact that you can go out and find a C7 Audi RS6 Avant and tune it for less than the price of a brand-new one, while also making it a proper 200 mph car, is simply astonishing. Not only that but it can also be used to take the kids to school, the dog to the vet, or the while family on a long vacation. It will just do all of it very quickly.
