VIDEO: Watch the Audi RS6 Avant Drive Home a New Puppy

Whenever we talk about the Audi RS6 Avant, or any fast Audi wagon, the main talking point is always its combination of both practicality and speed. The best attribute of any fast wagon is its ability to put down sports car performance while hauling a family and/or luggage. Most car enthusiasts also laud fast wagons for their ability to carry four-legged friends along in the trunk with ease. In this new video from Stef ABtv, we get to see just that.

In the video, Stef picks up an Audi RS6 Avant press loaner for a week and with it collects his new French Bulldog puppy. So he actually puts the commonly used automotive trope to the test. Also, what better vehicle to pick up a new dog in than an RS6?

Not only is the Audi RS6 Avant a luxurious, spacious family wagon but it’s one with a 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 making 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. That makes it good for 0-60 mph in under four seconds. Admittedly, ripping to 60 mph might not be very fun for a puppy that’s only been alive for a few weeks but, who knows, maybe he’s a gear-head.

Also, the RS6 Avant can be equipped with air suspension, making it supple and comfortable for long journeys. That does make it a bit less fun in the corners but the trade-off is a more comfortable ride. If you want sharper handling, opt for the Dynamic Ride Control (DRC), which brings about steel springs and cross-linked hydraulic dampers. DRC makes the Audi RS6 Avant handle like a much smaller, lighter car but it does make it stiffer. The air suspension is likely better for puppy-hauling-duty.

Obviously, the puppy in this video could have been brought home in a bicycle basket, he’s so small, but the RS6 Avant’s ability to still carry that dog when he gets bigger, along with people and luggage, makes it the better all-around performance luxury car than most other performance machines.
