Taking manufacturer delivery is always something that I’ve dreamed of doing. The idea of going to pick up my brand-new car straight from the factory is just so flipping cool. Sadly, not all manufacturers do it an the ones that do are mostly in Europe, making it a bit too expensive for a lot of American enthusiasts to do. Still, it’s an awesome experience for anyone that can do it. In this video, we see 38 of those customers go to the Audi HQ in Ingolstadt, each of them picking up an Audi R8 of some sort.
That’s right, 38 new Audi R8 owners took delivery of their cars on the same day, at the same time. That’s an insane number of R8s to have in one place. All of it is documented in this new video from Seen Through Glass.
All of the Audi R8 models delivered on that crazy day are pretty standard, as heavily customized cars wouldn’t have been ready in time, but they’re still awesome. One even wore a matte Vegas Yellow paint job, which is a bit unique and very cool. Special features or not, though, the event in Ingolstadt featured 380 cylinders and thousands of horsepower, all packed into a bunch of stunning supercars. How do you not love that?
Not only that but there were some other special Audis on hand as well. For instance, the Audi TT Safari Concept, with its taller ride height, massive knobby tires and little pick-up-style bed, was on display and looked awesome. Those Audi R8 owners also had the chance to see the original Audi Quattro rally car that Walter Rohrl drove, which is always a thrill.
It’s awesome to see events like this, where automakers really embrace their fans and do something special for their customers. It’s what keeps customers loyal to the brand and creates a sense of connection to their cars. Especially when that car is an Audi R8.
