Not one, but two Audi R8 V10 Plus supercars were spotted recently by Youtuber Gumbal. One of them had German plates and an Ara Blue crystal effect paint while the other had a Belgium license plate and a more sinister Mythos Black metallic hue. Both cars shared the mesmerizing V10 5.2-liter FSI naturally aspirated engine which you can hear in the attached footage and unsurprisingly it sounds a lot like the Lamborghini Huracan, but this shouldn’t really come as a surprise since the two cars have essentially the same motor.
There’s been much debate about the styling as many have criticized Audi for playing it too safe by adopting an evolutionary design rather than making some significant changes. When the first official images came out, we honestly weren’t that impressed with the R8’s appearance, but seeing it in the metal made us change our opinion as the subtly revised body has done wonders to the car and you have to see it for yourself to notice that it looks substantially more refined and upscale.
The Audi R8 V10 Plus version is even more visually appealing thanks to its clear coated carbon fiber side blades while the front splitter and the rear diffuser have received the same treatment. You can only get it as a coupe for now, but next year the Spyder will be out for those who like to drive with the top down and are willing to pay more for the electrically operated fabric roof.
