The Audi RS6 Avant is a very fast car as-is. In fact, stock RS6s can properly take on supercars with more power and less weight. So tuned RS6s must just be insanity and nigh-unstoppable. So what happens when one takes on another highly-tuned V8 German in a straight-line drag race? In this new video from Evolve Automotive, we find out.
Evolve’s F10-generation BMW M5, nicknamed the “Great White”, is a monstrously powerful car. It puts out a whopping 710 hp from its 4.4 liter twin-turbocharged V8. That’s a lot more than the stock 605 hp from the RS6 Performance. Though, the Audi RS6 Avant in this video is also tuned, we just don’t know who’s tuned it or how much power it makes from its 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8.
At the start of this video, the Audi RS6 shows off its drag-strip credentials, as it dusts the M5 off the line. This is likely due to its extra Quattro all-wheel drive traction. While the Audi powers both axles, the F10 BMW M5 powers only its rear axle. A new generation of M5 has been released and that has all-wheel drive but the F10 M5 in this video only sports rear-wheel drive.
After the RS6 jumps out to a commanding lead, the F10 M5’s monstrous power allows it to reel the Audi back in.It eventually catches up to and overtakes its Bavarian sibling. So while the Audi RS6 Avant in this video is extremely fast, it isn’t as fast as the bonkers BMW M5. Sure, the M5 has a bit of traction issues off the line but once it catches up, it absolutely flies.
We don’t know what sort of power the Audi was making, nor do we know much else about it. It doesn’t matter much now because it got roasted by another tuned German.
