We all know the Audi TT RS is a fast car. With 400 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque from its 2.5 liter turbo-I5, the TT RS can hit 60 mph in under four seconds from the factory. Without touching a single nut or bolt, the stock TT RS can run with a Ferrari F430 to 60 mph. So it’s seriously quick. However, when you boost it to 900 horsepower, it gets much faster.
Meet Brian, who’s tuned his Audi TT RS to make 900 horsepower and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. All of that extra power was achieved mostly thanks to a much bigger turbo and a Unitronic engine tune, though there was obviously more done to it. However, it’s not just the engine that’s been tuned. The seven-speed dual-clutch transmission was tuned as well, also by Unitronic.
It was then given a new exhaust, lightweight wheels, carbon ceramic brakes and even a way to control the Haldex all-wheel drive system. So it can manually be overridden to be more all-wheel drive-biased or even completely front-wheel drive.
Straight-line acceleration, with launch control, looks violent. It’s claimed to hit 60 mph in 2.0 seconds, which would make it faster than a Porsche Taycan Turbo S, Tesla Model S P100D Plaid, Bugatti Chiron and McLaren 720S, if true. It certainly looks like it could be that fast, as the acceleration is the sort that makes passengers lose their lunch.
What’s most impressive about this build, though, is how much of it is stock. So despite being tuned to make more power than a Dodge Demon, it has stock transmission clutches, stock axles and a stock driveshaft. Honestly, I don’t know how those two clutches aren’t obliterated with each and every launch. They’re just not designed to take that much instant torque. So it just goes to show the quality of engineering in the TT RS.
This Audi TT RS is one of the most powerful and fastest we’ve seen yet and is honestly quite shocking. It’s also shocking how livable it seems to be. He can drive it everyday, it looks like, without issue. It just so happens to have hypercar-shredding ability as well.
