VIDEO: This 800 HP Audi RS6 Avant Johann ABT Edition is a Monster

Since the debut of the current Audi RS6 Avant, we’ve seen some intense builds. While the RS6 is slower than its competition from the factory, it seems pretty easy to make simply ridiculous power figures from its 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8. This latest build is the Johann ABT Edition, named after the founder of ABT Sportsline, and it’s properly insane.

The Audi RS6 Avant Johann ABT Edition is just one of 64 models that will ever be made and the one in the video is car number eight. It separates itself from the standard RS6 with a carbon fiber body kit that has red accents built into the carbon fiber weave. There’s a carbon fiber front splitter, side mirrors, roof spoiler, rear diffuser, and even a fake fender vent. All of them get the red weave accents. It also gets massive six-spoke star wheels painted in black.

From the factory, the Audi RS6 Avant makes 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. However, the Johann ABT Edition was tuned to deliver 800 horsepower and 980 Nm (723 lb-ft) of torque. It gets to that power level with new turbochargers, a new intercooler, an ECU tune, and an additional oil cooler, to name a few. Not only that but the engine was tuned and built by ABT’s racing division, a division that normally builds ABT’s race cars.

According to ABT, this tuned RS6 is capable of 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds, which is a lot faster than the 3.6 seconds of the standard car. If true, that would also put it in contention with the BMW M5 CS.

If you’re expecting the Audi RS6 Avant Johann ABT Edition to be bonkers fast, you’d be right. It’s shockingly fast, exploding toward the horizon with shocking speed. It also proves just has capable the engine is. Its rivals might make more power stock but it’s easy to tune an RS6 into have world-beating numbers.
