We already know that the Audi RS6 Avant is capable of shocking power levels with just some mild tuning. Just an engine ECU tune alone can bump it to nearly 800 horsepower. However, if you do throw other bits and bobs at it, and tune it up the right way, it can reach 1,000 horsepower, which is exactly what MTM’s makes.
In this new video from AutoTopNL, we get to see that very Audi RS6 Avant not only accelerate but reach a very high speed on an unrestricted section of Autobahn.
If the standard RS6, with its 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 making 591 horsepower, can get from 0-60 mph in about 3.6 seconds, how fast do you reckon one with 1,000 horsepower is? According to the GPS-based timing gear AutoTopNL uses, the answer is an eye-watering 2.79 seconds. That’s seriously, shockingly fast. For reference, that’s a touch quicker than an Audi R8 V10 Performance, which is frankly absurd. Though, in fairness, it’s also just as quick as a BMW M5 Competition, so the RS6 still has some performance work cut out for it.
But what about rolling in-gear acceleration, which is more realistic in terms of how fast a car will be on the road. Well, it was able to keep pulling hard enough to accelerate from 200-300 km/h (124-186 mph) in just 12.71 seconds. Considering all of the wind resistance at that speed, that’s a pretty impressive time.
Of course, all of this was done in a 1,000 horsepower tuned Audi RS6 Avant and not a stock car, so your standard RS6 won’t be able to do that. However, the fact that someone can just take their RS6 to MTM and get this 1,000 horsepower is almost scary. All you need to have a 1,000 horsepower uber-wagon is money and plenty of people have enough. Let’s hope their driving is up to par.
