While the Audi RS7 Sportback isn’t exactly a supercar, it does have supercar performance. Which I guess qualifies it for a Supercar Blondie review, which it gets in this new video from the aforementioned YouTuber.
If you didn’t already know, Supercar Blondie is an Australian vlogger who often tests the world’s most incredible supercars and hypercars. She’s often in exotic locations, testing seven-figure machines and exploring the automotive world for the uber-rich. However, every once in a while, she tests something a bit more normal, such as the RS7.
We wouldn’t normally call and RS7 normal, as it’s price tag crests six figures, but it’s far cheaper than anything ‘Blondie normally tests. Which actually works in its favor. If it can impress Supercar Blondie, it has to be pretty good, right?
Right off the bat, she actually has a bit of a criticism. It’s one that can be said of all Audis, to be honest, and one that many enthusiasts complain about — parked rev limiter. Modern Audis limit your revs while standing still to under 4,000 rpm, preventing you from revving the engine up while at a traffic light. The intention of this is unknown. Emissions maybe? No matter, it’s frustrating, especially when you have a damn-near 600 hp rocket ship of a car.
After she actually gets moving, she does note a few good things about the car. First, she shows off the RS7’s auto start/stop feature. In itself, it’s not that special of a feature, as almost every new car has it. However, after it shuts the engine off at a stop, to save fuel and emissions, it will restart again after it notices the car in front of it moving. So it can actually restart prior to removing your foot off the break pedal, making for a more seamless takeoff.
She also takes the Audi RS7 Sportback on the Autobahn and gets it up to 240 km/h (150 mph), which is almost its standard top-speed limiter. That’s pretty quick on public roads and must be a blast.
The RS7 is one of the cooler cars Audi currently makes and Supercar Blondie seems to like it, despite normally being around far more impressive metal. So check it out.
