Audi recently just took the wrapping off of the 2017 Audi RS3 Sedan at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The newest entry in Audi Sport’s RS lineup is its smallest and possibly the most exciting. Reason being is simple, it’s the cheapest and still packs Audi’s brilliant 2.5 liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine.
That means it makes 400 hp, good for 35 more than the previous RS3 Sportback, and can do 0-60 mph in just over 4 seconds. It’s properly quick, the RS3 Sedan. What’s even more exciting is the fact that it’s finally coming to North America. Audi has a nasty little habit of not bringing its best cars across the Atlantic. Admittedly, it’s mostly our fault because we haven’t bought them when they have come here, but we’re just glad to see that they’re starting to come back.
Though, while we’ve read all about the Audi RS3 Sedan and seen photos of it under the bright lights of the auto show, we haven’t actually seen it in motion yet. So here is a video of the RS3 tackling some stunning twisty mountain roads. While it isn’t actually a review and we don’t learn about how it drives, we get to see it in action and listen to that brilliant engine.
The Audi RS3 Sedan comes just in time to tackle the admittedly incredible BMW M2 here in America. While the RS3 should have no problem dispatching of the Mercedes-AMG CLA45, the M2 could give it a real problem. But with more power, more grip and more technology, the Audi RS3 Sedan has a real shot at taking down the current fan favorite. Check this video out and see why.
