There honestly isn’t a better everyday supercar on the market than the Audi R8 V10. It’s combination of power, performance, excitement, comfort, and usability is unmatched for the price. In this new POV drive video from Tedward, he calls the R8 V10 a “Huracan in a business suit” and that’s pretty damn accurate.
It’s easy to find speed, nowadays. Even entry-level sports cars are as fast as supercars were just ten years ago. Electric performance cars have also proven speed to be incredibly easy to come by. Combining that speed with comfort is even pretty common, too, with cars like the Audi RS e-tron GT proving that cars can be both immensely fast and effortlessly comfortable. However, speed, comfort, and blood-pumping thrills are hard to find in one car. But the Audi R8 V10 blends them all brilliantly.
Powering the Audi R8 V10 is a 5.2 liter naturally-aspirated V10, which makes 610 horsepower. The car in this video is an Audi R8 V10 Plus, not the new V10 Performance, but the power is the same. Performance is also the same, getting from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds, which makes the R8 among the fastest cars on sale.
And yet, despite that blistering performance, it’s also comfortable to drive on a daily basis. I once spent around six hours one day behind the wheel of an R8 Performance and not only was I still comfortable at the end of the day, I could have driven another couple of hours, no problem.
Don’t think because it’s comfy that it’s also soft and sloppy, though. The Audi R8 is a proper canyon carver and track weapon. Its Quattro all-wheel drive grip is immense, as is its steering and balance. It really does let you have your cake and eat it, too.
All the while, you have the spine-tingling soundtrack of a free-breathing V10 that revs past 8,250 rpm. Few engines on the planet sound better than Audi’s V10, which provides one of the most emotional noises of any engine in the world.
How many cars can combine the Audi R8’s level of power, performance, handling,
comfort, and sound? Almost none.
