VIDEO: Our Five Cool Facts about the Audi e-tron GT Concept

Now that the Audi e-tron GT Concept is here, it seems that the entire automotive industry seems impressed. We’re seeing tons of positive feedback about Audi’s latest electric concept, even fans of rival brands. Since it’s become such an instant hit, we thought we’d put together a short video, showing you five cool things about the e-tron GT.

While we won’t go through all of them, so as to not spoil the video, we’ll just give you a brief overview of the Audi e-tron GT Concept.

The e-tron GT is the brand’s second all-electric car, with the e-tron SUV being the first, and it’s designed to be powerful and fast, with efficiency taking a bit of a back seat. So it gets a whopping 590 hp from its two electric motors, which makes it even more powerful than the Audi R8 V10.

Those dual electric motors also give it “Electric Quattro” as Audi calls it. Basically, having an electric motor at each axle allows it to have full-time, torque-vectoring all-wheel drive. So it can use its computers to judge how much power is needed at each axle and it can put that exact amount down, instantaneously. Audi even engineered in a little bit of slip, so you can get the tail out a bit, which is cool to see.

We can’t wait to see the actual production version of the Audi e-tron GT. This is just a concept but it’s a very production-ready concept and Audi plans on it hitting dealerships in 2019. Judging by the looks of it, both inside and out, very little needs to be changed for it to actually hit the road and be legally registered in most countries. When it does eventually come out, it will undercut rival brands’ cars by at least a year and it could be the most exciting electric car on the road.
