VIDEO: Nick Murray drives the B9 Audi S4

If you’ve never seen Nick Murray’s YouTube channel, he’s had quite a few really cool cars over the years. His channel first gained a lot of popularity with his 991-generation Porsche 911 Carrera S. Then, he had a BMW M4 and now he has a 911.2-generation Porsche 911 4S. But in between those cars, he also reviews other cars and has driven a lot of the coolest sports cars on the market. His latest review is the of the B9-generation Audi S4.

Now, the new S4 has gotten a bit of flak from enthusiasts and journalists alike for not being as exciting or as thrilling as many had hoped. It makes up for a lot of that by being damn fast, impressively smooth and surprisingly quiet. So it’s an excellent sleeper sedan, especially considering that it doesn’t look that much different from the standard A4 anyway. So what does Nick Murray think of it?

Well, he’s impressed by the power but doesn’t love the engine. The new 3.0 liter turbocharged V6 makes 354 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, which allows it to get from 0-60 mph in the low four-second range. So he likes how fast it is. But he claims that it lacks the noise and drama that the old supercharged engine had. Admittedly, it sounds pretty good from the outside, where it’s growly and raspy. Though, we can completely understand why he claims it to be too quiet. From the inside, it’s quite muted, thanks to the impressive quiet cabin.

While that cabin is quite quiet, therefor lacking the exciting of a traditional Audi S car, it’s beautifully built. The leather is fantastic, the build quality is superb and the design is lovely. Murray finds some of its design to be a bit busy, such as the door panels, but likes it for the most part.

Overall, Murray seems to like the Audi S4 and even likes how much of a sleeper it is. While it may not be as thrilling as his M4 or 911, it’s still a great sport sedan.
