VIDEO: Nick Murray drives 2017 Audi A8 3.0T

If you’ve seen Nick Murray’s YouTube channel, you’d know that it doesn’t typically feature Audis. Murray made his channel famous with his personal Porsche 911 Carrera which he then sold for a BMW M4 which he again sold, as he awaits his next 911. He uses his cars to make entertaining car reviews, as he takes them on adventures, drives them in his home-town Connecticut’s harsh winters and compares them against their rivals. However, his latest video features a brand-new 2017 Audi A8L 3.0T.

While it’s technically a brand-new model, being a 2017 model year, it’s not a brand-new car. The current-generation Audi A8 is actually quite old, having come out in 2009. Being that it’s old, it lacks the sort of technology and luxury that the new BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S Class have. That makes it feel a bit outdated but it’s still a great car and Murray shows us that is worth buying in this new video review.

The first reason why the A8 is still worth buying is its price. Being the old man in the segment and approaching the end of its life cycle, Audi is giving A8s away. You can currently get an incredibly loaded Audi A8 3.0T, with almost all of the optional equipment available, for under $90,000. While that might not seem cheap, it is when compared to its competitors from BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

But the second reason to buy it is that the Audi A8 is still a great car. With an excellent engine, a 3.0 liter supercharged V6 that makes 333 hp, the A8 is still competitive in its class, in terms of performance. It’s also packs enough luxury to make anyone who can afford a six-figure car happy. The technology is a bit dated feeling, but not enough to be a problem. It’s still tremendously comfortable and luxurious, with massaging seats and a massive back seat.
