The upcoming 2017 Audi TT RS is probably the most hotly anticipated car in Audi’s stable at the moment. Its 2.5 liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine is the most beloved engine that Audi currently makes and harkens back to the days of the original Audi Quattro. Plus, it makes 400 hp, so that helps. The Audi TT RS will also be one of the best looking Audis on the market when it debuts, with its almost baby-R8 styling. It looks fantastic and is as aggressive looking as it is to drive. But it’s the sound that gets us.
In this video from YouCar, they take the Audi TT RS out for a drive so we can all hear how it sounds and see what it looks like as it fires down the road. They don’t talk or give a review of the car and the video is quite short, but we do get a glimpse of what it looks like on the move, what the interior is like and, most importantly, how that 2.5 liter 5-pot sounds.
The video starts off calm, with a still TT RS Roadster. They then lower the roof and we get to see the mechanism work its magic. After the roof comes down, we get a look at the interior and it really is a gorgeous cabin. We love the standard Audi TT/TTS cabin but the TT RS sends it over the top. Then the woman from YouCar gets in, thumbs the starter button and we get to hear that glorious engine. It barks to life and burbles at low rpm. As she flings it down the road, the TT RS sounds fantastic. It crackles and roars to life with every prod of the right pedal. It’s just such an intoxicating sound.
Because we won’t get to drive the TT RS for some time, this video only makes us even more anxious to get behind the wheel. It’s going to be a long wait, and it’s going to feel even longer than it will actually be, but it seems like it will be worth it. If only for the noise alone.
