Evolve Automotive is one of the premiere Audi/BMW tuners in the UK and does some really nice work. Currently, they’re in Japan having some fun with their tuning partners, distributors and friends in the business. While there, the Japanese Audi-backed racing team, Team Hitotsuyarna, invited him to drive their Audi A1 race car.
While there, he had the chance to see some very cool cars from Team Hitotsuyarna, such as the race car Audi A1 he drove. Though, there was also an Audi RS3 Sedan racer as well as an Audi R8 racer. So there’s some really cool racing metal on display in this video. Though, we eventually get to see Evolve’s Imran Arshad get behind the wheel of the Audi A1 racer on the famous Fuji Speedway circuit. What’s interesting is that the Audi A1 he drove only had its suspension modified and its interior stripped out for race duty. Its powertrain was otherwise stock, so it was rather slow on track. Handled well but slow, considering it only had a 1.4 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
It’s bucket-list stuff, though, to race at Fuji regardless of what car you’re driving, as it’s one of the world’s great racetracks. Not only is it a great track but the scenery is also breathtaking, with Mount Fuji in background. It’s the sort of track that most enthusiasts only know about from Gran Turismo, as Imran admits himself. So it must have been an absolute rush to drive it, especially in a track-ready Audi, even if it wasn’t very fast.
If you don’t know about Evolve and their Eventuri parts, they’re worth checking out. They make some great intakes and carbon fiber bits for a lot of modern Audis and they do great work of modifying cars both for the street and the track.
