A little while back, we talked about the different Audi S4s and which one was best. We went through the each generation, talked about their pros and cons and then decided which one was best. Well, as it turns out, Chris Harris did the very same thing, except with RS4s, quite a while back, and he did it on video and did it much better by actually driving them.
In the video, Harris drives each generation of the RS4 (technically skipping the B6, but the B6 and B7 are pretty much the same car anyway), ending with the B8. At the time of the video, the B8 was brand new and, even though he isn’t quite sold on it, he ended up eventually buying one. This video so perfectly demonstrates the pros and cons and can actually review the older models accurately. We typically look at older performance cars through the rose-tinted glasses of nostalgia and don’t remember their faults. Harris is able to discuss these older cars, having driven them when they were new and now driving them again years later, without said glass.
At the end of driving all of the RS4s, Harris also drives the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Estate. It’s actually the previous-generation today, but at the time of the video it was the current model. It’s interesting to see the difference between all of the S4s and the Merc, how differently each company does things.
I won’t spoil it and say which one he liked best, you should just check it out. Watch it and get excited for the upcoming Audi RS4 and the kind of changes that Audi’s latest MLB platform will bring.
