One Audi that’s growing in popularity among tuners is the B8-generation S4. At this point, B8 S4s have come down to reasonably prices, which has allowed more enthusiasts to snatch them up and modify them. If you have a B8 Audi S4 and want to mod your car but don’t know where to start, this ECS video can help.
ECS Tuning is one of the largest aftermarket part suppliers in North America and has everything from OEM replacement parts to aftermarket upgrades. ECS carries parts for basically every German brand, plus MINI, as it’s owned by BMW.
In this video, we get to see ECS’ build for the B8 Audi S4, which includes a new throttle body, new pulleys, a CSF radiator and a Supersprint cat-back exhaust system. This is also part five of the ECS B8 S4 build. If you want to see the previous four parts, they’re on ECS’ YouTube channel. They’ll explain everything that’s been done to the car.
After it’s all said and done, they put the car on an all-wheel drive dyno to see how much power the modded S4 makes over stock. According to the dyno, the modded B8 Audi S4 makes 399 lb-ft of torque to the wheels and 423 wheel horsepower. That’s about 90 lb-ft and 110 horsepower to the wheels more than the stock S4.
The proof is in the speed, too. They should a couple of launches and it pulls so hard it spins all four wheels and gets itself sideways a bit right off the line. It’s a seriously quick car.
More importantly, it sounds fantastic. The Supersprint cat-back exhaust sounds incredible, especially compared to the stock car. You can hear the stock car first in this video and the upgraded exhaust is quantum leap. We’ve always been big fans of Supersprint but this might be the biggest upgrade from the Italian exhaust company we’ve seen on an Audi. It’s likely due to not being turbocharged. Adding to that exhaust noise is the killer supercharger whine.
All in, this B8 Audi S4 is awesome and if you have such a car that you want to tune, you can look to this car for inspiration.
