VIDEO: Check out the Audi e-tron GT in Motion in new Spy Video

Audi e-tron GT

Easily the most exciting Audi product in the pipeline is the e-tron GT. The all-electric four-door super GT — the very same car driven by Tony Stark himself, years after ushering in the original R8 — is set to debut in late 2020. However, as a bit of a teaser, some new spy video has been released, showing off the Audi e-tron GT driving around in the snow.

What’s nice is that this video gets nice and close, so we can get a good look at it and even hear it. It’s not often when hearing an electric car is exciting but it actually is with the e-tron GT. It makes a lovely futuristic whirring noise as it gracefully drives past the camera in this video. That’s likely a fake noise, and obviously not anywhere near as good as the rumble of a V8, but it’s very cool.

We already know that the Audi e-tron GT is going to be a good looking car. The concept car was stunning and Audi has told us that it was about 90-percent complete at that time. So expect the production car to look a lot like the Concept, especially as it looks a lot like the concept in this new spy video.

There aren’t any official specs but when the Audi e-tron GT debuts, expect over 500 hp, a 0-60 mph time in the low three-second range and anywhere between 200-250 miles of realistic range. Think Porsche Taycan 4S (not the bonkers-fast Taycan “Turbo S”), as the two cars share the same chassis and should share the same powertrain equipment. So expect a 0-60 mph time of around 4.5 seconds and 150 kW charging speed.

The Audi e-tron GT, without question, is the most exciting car coming from Audi in the next… well, ever. Just on paper alone, it has the potential to the next R8 — a car that ignites passion in the customers base. In reality, it’s based on the Taycan, a car that’s absolutely brilliant, so it should deliver on its potential. We can’t wait to see it later this year.

I've been in love with cars since I was a kid, specifically German cars. Now I get to drive them talk about them on the internet.
