VIDEO: Carwow talks about the Audi Q8

Now that the Audi Q8 is finally here, the internet seems abuzz with information, pictures and videos of it. If it weren’t for the debut of the new BMW X5 today as well (more on that in another article), the Q8 would have dominated the web, to use my ’90s lingo. The important bits to know are that this new Q8 is Audi’s latest flagship, meaning it will be the most expensive and most premium car the brand makes. It will also be sportier than its Q7 sibling and more luxurious, despite having fewer passenger seats. In this new video from Carwow, we take a look a ten interesting things you might want to know about Audi’s newest flagship SUV.

We won’t go through all ten things from Carwow’s video, so you have reason to go watch it, but we will touch on a few points. For instance, its size. We just mentioned that it lacks the passenger space of an Audi Q7, however, it takes up about the same amount of physical space on the road. That’s because it’s quite long. In fact, it’s almost as long as the big daddy Range Rover. So rear seat passengers will thoroughly enjoy the Q8, thanks to all of that extra length but only two rows of seating.

Another interesting bit Carwow mentions are its engine options. The Audi Q8 will get the same basic engines as the rest of Audi’s premium cars, such as the A7 and A8. So it will get a 3.0 liter V6 diesel, a 3.0 liter V6 petrol and a 4.0 liter V8 diesel. Though, Carwow mentions that the Q8 will also possibly get an RS Q8 version with a 4.2 liter twin-turbo V8. Tasty.

It will also be decently capable off road, so Audi claims. With short front and rear overhangs and an optional air suspension that can raise the ride height quite a bit, along with the always excellent Quattro all-wheel drive system, the Q8 should actually be surprisingly decent when the road disappears. Though, don’t expect it to rival a Range Rover. Maybe the Velar.
