We’ve known for some time now that Carwow has an Audi RS4 Avant as a long-term test car. We even learned that it makes more power than Audi claims, as Carwow’s Mat Watson took it to a dyno and had its power figures properly tested. But what about a real review? Well, Watson just recently reviewed the RS4 Avant in this new video.
The Audi RS4 Avant in question has actually been Watson’s daily driver for the past two months. That means he knows it better than most journalists, as we typically only get to test cars for about a week or so. So what does he think about it? Well, he seems to love it, really. We get that impression from the fact that he says “I love this car”. Though, that could be a bit ambiguous….
Under the hood lies a 2.9 liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that makes a claimed 450 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. Audi also claims that it gets from 0-60 mph in about 4.1 seconds. However, Watson tests it with proper equipment and records a 3.5 second 0-60 mph time. That’s really impressive and puts it right with cars like the Ferrari 458 Italia. Oh, and it’s a four-door wagon with a big trunk.
Inside, it’s very similar to that of the standard Audi A4 but that’s not really a problem. It’s a fantastic interior with just enough tech to be useful but not too much so as to distract you. Plus, the design is lovely, the seats are superb (even if they are the same ones from the S4) and it has a ton of cargo space. When you add all of that together, it’s hard to not look at the Audi RS4 Avant as anything other than the best all-around super sedan (or wagon) on the market. So you can see, we love it, too.
