VIDEO: Carwow drives the Audi A7

When Audi first launched the new, second-generation A7, fans were very impressed with how good looking it was. Most fans were nervous, prior to its launch, that it wouldn’t be as stunning as the first-gen car. However, this new one is actually better looking. However, it’s a bit different in the way it droves, forgoing some of the first car’s sportiness for added luxury and comfort. In this new video from Carwow, Mat Watson takes us through the styling, tech, interior and driving dynamics of the new Audi A7.

From the outside, the new A7 is a stunner. Its sleek profile, sharp noise and slick OLED taillights make it one of the best looking cars in the segment. If you’re looking for something stylish, it’s hard to choose something better than the Audi A7.

It looks fantastic inside, as well. The cabin of the new A7, as well as the A6 and A8, looks superb. Its layout is smart, its styling is modern and fresh and its quality is among the best in the business. Sure, there’s a material or two that might not be the absolute best but, overall, it’s really excellent. The tech is also great, thanks to Audi’s new MMI system and always brilliant Virtual Cockpit.

There are some things that you might not like about it, though. For instance, while the new touchscreen MMI system is cool, it leaves tons of fingerprint smudges. Also, its steering is too light and slow, making it feel more like an Audi A8 than anything else. The latter part might make a lot of customers happy, as modern customers are far more interested in comfort than performance. However, us enthusiasts will miss the old A7 and its sporty drive.

Still, if you’re looking for a stylish luxury car that’s surprisingly practical, it’s hard to do better than the Audi A7. We wish it was a bit sportier but if you want a sporty Audi with a liftback tailgate, get an Audi RS5 Sportback.
