You’ve probably heard of the Audi RS6 Avant by now. The Jekyll and Hyde Audi Avant combines brutal speed, sumptuous comfort and full-family practicality into one car. If someone were come up with a car from scratch that could do everything they needed it to do, they’d likely come up with the Audi RS6 Avant, as there’s literally nothing it does poorly, aside from maybe off-roading.
Its brilliant 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 develops 560 hp (605 in “Performance” spec) and can get it from 0-60 mph in just 3.9 seconds (3.7 for “Performance”). That’s Porsche 911 Carrera 4S speed in a car that seats five in incredible luxury while also having enough space for the entire family’s luggage and maybe even a dog. It’s an incredibly versatile automobile.
It also looks flipping brilliant, with its massive wheels and “Quattro” badges throughout. It’s equal parts elegant and aggressive, making it ideal for the family man or woman that also enjoys speed and performance. It can be used to show off in the company parking lot, proving you have the most expensive and luxurious car there, while also threatening Porsches and Ferraris on the road.
In this video review of the Audi RS6 Avant from CarBuyer, we get to see this wonderful duality in the flesh. We get to see how practical it can be and also how fast it can be. And while it’s expensive, well over the €100,000 mark (it isn’t available here in the US), it’s a car that offers true supercar performance in a family car body. Nothing else on the market can claim that to the extent of the RS6 Avant, so we’d say it’s worth the price tag. It seems that CarBuyer does as well.
