VIDEO: Captain Marvel drives the Audi e-tron in “The Debriefing”

I won’t lie to you, I’ve yet to see Captain Marvel, unfortunately. So I don’t know exactly what happens to her in between the ’90s, in which the film is set, to present day, which is where she seems to be in Avengers: Endgame (Or when she seems to be. Amirite? I’ll let myself out). However she gets to the present day, though, she seems to have been away for some time and isn’t aware of modern tech or trends. Which is why she needs a debriefing and we get to see that in this latest video from Audi.

In this video, we see an agent of Shield, presumably, giving Captain Marvel the rundown of what’s changed since she’s last been on Earth. It’s actually a pretty funny video, as the Shield agent tells her about the state of the Avengers using action figures and tries to explain both avocado toast and Snapchat.

The last part of the clip, though, is where it really gets interesting, as the Shield agent takes Captain Marvel to the Audi e-tron. It’s likely the first time she’s ever seen an electric car and she seems intrigued by it. When the agent says that “All it needs is a charge”, Cap gives it some sort of electrical blast (again, I didn’t see the movie, so I don’t know what powers she has. Don’t spoil it for me, fellow nerds) and says “Not anymore.” Cap gets in and takes it for a spin, along with her feline co-pilot, Goose, and the agent.

As a Marvel nerd and Audi enthusiast, it’s awesome to see these mashups. Ever since the first Audi R8 in Iron Man (2008) , it’s been a great partnership. “Since Tony Stark introduced the world to the iconic Audi R8 in 2008, Marvel fans have really embraced the brand. We’re eager to introduce them now to the all-electric Audi e-tron SUV and expect an equally strong fan reaction to Tony Stark’s new supercar the all-electric Audi e-tron GT concept,” said Loren Angelo, vice president of Marketing, Audi of America.

“Each collaboration with Marvel Studios and Audi has brought something new to the table,” said Mindy Hamilton, senior vice president of Global Partnerships, Marvel. “This time, it’s bringing the most powerful Super Hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain Marvel, into the storytelling and we couldn’t be more excited to see fans watch this story unfold.”

Now I’m extra excited to see both Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame.
