The high-end Bang & Olufsen audio system inside the new A4 is being detailed by Audi UK in a new promo clip. It’s available at an additional cost for both the sedan and the wagon body styles and those who are willing to pay extra to get it will enjoy no less than 19 loudspeakers pumping out a total of 755 watts. Two of these have been installed in the dashboard while another two reside in the A pillars to enable a 3D experience.
The setup also encompasses a 16-channel amplifier while those speakers have a new type of aluminum strip tailored to the new look of the interior cabin. A cool feature is represented by the white fiber optics that illuminates the base drivers in the front doors and it should look pretty sweet especially during the night.
Audi and Bang & Olufsen worked on the 3D technology of this sound system with the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits in Erlangen. The stereo and/or 5.1 recordings are analyzed and then a third dimension is automatically generated and processed for the additional speakers to perfectly replicate a 3D sound experience which is likely unmatched in this segment.
As a final note, Audi UK is asking 645.00 GBP for the Bang & Olufsen sound system.
