ABT Sportsline’s mental Audi RS6-R Avant was spotted recently making a lot of noise at a Cars & Coffee event in Italy.
The high-performance wagon made its debut back in March this year at the Geneva Motor Show and as you can hear it sounds absolutely brutal even when idle. It might night look as radical as the defunct RS6 DTM previously owned by Jon Olsson, but it’s still a sight to behold thanks to that overly aggressive body painted in Daytona grey matt and massive 22-inch alloy wheels shod in Dunlop high-performance tires.
The striking design is matched with a heavily upgraded version of the twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine that now delivers a beefy 730 hp and 920 Nm of torque which is a lot more compared to a regular RS6 Avant which is rated at 560 hp and 700 Nm.
Most of the added body bits and pieces are made from carbon fiber to keep the weight down low and the sound you’re hearing comes from a newly developed stainless steel exhaust system featuring a twin double-pipe arrangement hosted within a beefier diffuser made from carbon fiber. As a final touch, the engineers at ABT have fitted the RS6-R Avant with a height-adjustable suspension and they also made some tweaks inside the hot wagon’s cabin.
