Audi Sport Deutschland has just recently released a video of the brand new Audi R8 V10 Plus taking on a Ducati 1299 Panigale S in The Isle of Man.
Local hero, Richard “Milky” Quayle, talks about the TT course that they will be racing on and describes just how difficult and treacherous it is for a motorbike racer. The turns are tight and twisty, the sunlight shining through the tree is like a strobe light in your eyes and motorbike drivers must be constantly on their toes and concentrating on so much that it overloads the brain. It’s genuinely fascinating listening to how these riders manage it.
The Audi R8 V10 is the competition and it’s a tough competitor. While it isn’t as sharp, nor does it have the fast reflexes of a bike, it’s incredibly fast and easier to control. It’s also far less dangerous and less likely to be injured in. Plus, being a modern supercar, there are enough electronic driver aids and Quattro all-wheel drive that the R8 will practically drive itself around corners. So it’s far more of a risk to drive the Ducati.
The video shows many flashes of these two incredible machines, engines roaring and tires squealing, to make it exciting. It showcases two of the fastest machines on the planet racing fast against each other in a beautiful location. What’s more to want?
