The Audi R8 V10 is one of the highest performing supercars on the planet. Its naturally-aspirated 5.2 liter V10 engine makes 540 hp and its mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It hits 60 mph in the low three-second range and competes with some of the highest-performing cars on the planet, such as the McLaren 570S, Porsche 911 GT3 and the…Rolls Royce Wraith? Well that’s exactly what happens in this new video. The best part? They drift on snow and ice.
In this new video from Mr JWW, they play with a lot of fun toys on an ice lake in Norway. The first toy they play with is a Polaris RZR, which actually lost a drive belt during their flogging, having to retire the car for the day. Although, that’s not surprising, considering Polaris’ reliability, or lack thereof. Next up, though, we get to see the Audi R8 V10 on ice and it looks like incredible fun. Its V10 fires to life, making a great noise while doing it. It also has surprising amounts of grip and control, despite being driven on pure sheet ice at certain moments. It slides about but in smooth, controllable drifts. Both smile and jealousy inducing.
While we don’t actually get to see the Wraith drifting in the snow, it was among the cars there. Don’t be too said, though, as Olsson brought some of his other toys, such as his Mercedes-Maybach G750 Landaulet. It’s pretty hilarious to watch that drift in the snow for a bit, as it’s enormous. Olsson himself claims it feels like drifting a semi-truck and we don’t doubt that.
After they’re all done, they park their cars in a heated garage, so they don’t freeze up in the absurd cold. What’s interesting about that, though, is to see just how incredible the fleet of cars they had there was. Aside from the Audi R8 and Rolls Royce Wraith, there were a couple of Porsche 911 GT3s, a Mercedes-AMG CLA45, a classic Ford Escort RS Cosworth and a classic E30 BMW M3. That’s an astonishing amount of superb and expensive cars to bring to go play in the snow. It must be nice to have millions of dollars.
