The second generation Audi R8 V10 Plus has arrived at the Audi Hamilton Island Race Week (AHIRW) in Australia. It’s one of the biggest yachting events in the country and on this occasion the company with the four ring logo decided to bring a brand new R8 in the range-topping V10 Plus specification painted in Vegas Yellow.
Aussies are getting a glimpse of what’s to come as the model will go on sale locally by the middle of next year and will actually be cheaper than the previous version as Audi has already announced the new model will cost less than $400,000 whereas the old one was $408,200. This pricing policy is a bit peculiar if we take into account that in Germany and UK the new R8 is actually more expensive than its predecessor.
The first-gen went on sale in Australia back in October 2007 and since then Audi managed to sell more than 400 units. The new Audi R8 V10 Plus will be available alongside the regular model and these two will be joined by a Spyder version which should be out in Europe before the end of next year, so Australia should get it in the first half of 2017.
