VIDEO: The Audi R8 V10 Plus is gorgeous in the snow

Audis are at home in snow. Quattro all-wheel drive was born in the woods, rally racing on both mud and snow, tearing rally stages to bits. So any Quattro all-wheel drive Audi is going to be more than capable in some snow. Even Audis you wouldn’t even dream about taking in snow. Like the Audi R8 V10 Plus.

About 99.9 percent of all Audi R8 V10 Plus owners would literally shiver at the idea of taking their precious supercar into the woods in the snow. Except for the brilliant psychopaths at Auditography.

They took a gorgeous Ara Blue Crystal Audi R8 V10 Plus into the woods, in about 4-5 inches of snow, to have some fun While the idea of a mid-engine, V10-powered supercar in the snow doesn’t really sound smart, it sure sounds like fun. Especially when said supercar has a rear-drive-based Quattro all-wheel drive system and a naturally-aspirated V10.

Said V10 displaced 5.2 liters and makes 610 hp in ‘V10 Plus’ guise. That makes it more powerful than a Lamborghini Huracan. The V10 is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. From a standstill, the R8 V10 Plus is capable of 0-60 mph in about 2.9 seconds, while using launch control and a dry surface, of course. So it’s not likely you’ll see that sort of speed here.

In this new video, we see the Audi R8 V10 Plus tear some fresh powder apart. Four-wheel spins, rooster tails of snow and a screaming V10 soundtrack make this video one worth watching. The videography is beautiful as well, showing off the beauty of both the R8 and its location, Zakopane, Poland.

There’s something awesome about the idea of taking an R8 in the snow and sliding it around. Its all-wheel drive system is capable of keeping things relatively in check, so long as the right tires are equipped. So it’s not unsafe but seems like a ton of fun.

I've been in love with cars since I was a kid, specifically German cars. Now I get to drive them talk about them on the internet.
