The Audi e-tron quattro is making a comeback in a new teaser clip ahead of a full reveal programmed at IAA in Frankfurt next week. This time we get to see a sketch of the concept being elaborated, showing the pure electric crossover will blend sporty cues with a dynamic design highlighted by the low roofline and those high-tech matrix laser OLED headlights.
The body has been aerodynamically optimized as it has a low drag coefficient of only 0.25 and the vehicle should also benefit from a lightweight construction since it uses the second generation of the MLB platform that has already underpinned the new Q7. The Audi e-tron quattro concept is motivated by three electric motors and is equipped with a big battery pack placed between the front and rear axles.
Like you would expect to see from a concept, it rides on a set of oversized alloy wheels while inside the cabin it will host an array of OLED screens that will replace most of the regular buttons & knobs to enable a touch-operated interface for the driver and the three passengers.
The concept is a sneak preview of the first ever Q6 due in 2018 with a 500+ km range thanks to a new battery developed by Audi in collaboration with LG Chem and Samsung SDI.
