Audi has dropped another video with the new A4, this time providing a quick glimpse at the smartphone interface. The overhauled premium compact model offers support for both Apple’s Car Play (iOS 7.1 and up) and Google’s Android Auto (5.0 Lollipop and up) which allows the owner to access the smartphone’s contents like music, telephone, navigation and third-party apps through a separate MMI menu.
Both CarPlay and Android Auto have been tailored to car use and offer a host of other services such as appointment reminders, news, navigation – all of which are accessible via the multi-function steering wheel, the rotary controller or voice control. The systems also have support for a wide variety of third-party apps like WhatsApp, Spotify and Pandora.
There’s also the possibility of online media streaming with access to music provided by Napster Aupeo! along with other online radio stations. The owner can send music data to the car’s MMI Navigation Plus system through a Wi-Fi connection while sending destinations from Google Maps can also be done.
A novelty in the new A4 are the services in the “Audi connect myService” from where the owner can access functions such as emergency call, Audi Service Appointment, remote control and online breakdown call.
