VIDEO: Audi A6 is Carwow Car of the Year contender

This new Audi A6 is by far the most high-tech and luxurious one to date. But it’s also a really well-rounded luxury car, with good style, a great interior and fun-to-drive dynamics when compared to most cars in the segment. Which is why it’s part of Carwow’s Car of the Year contest.

In this new video, Carwow’s Mat Watson talks about why the Audi A6 is one of the contenders for CoTY. For starters, it’s a very slick looking premium sedan, with sharp lines and impressive lighting. Inside, the Audi A6 boasts a class-leading cabin with truly special levels of luxury. While its competitors are also excellent, the A6’s interior is just a cut above the rest. It also gets technology that’s above its competition, with the latest MMI Touch Response system and Virtual Cockpit.

But it’s not just a pretty, squishy, techy luxury sedan. With adaptive air suspension and rear-wheel steering, the Audi A6 is also a fun car to drive. Its steering is sharp, it suspension is composed and its chassis is both balanced and dynamic. It might not be quite as sharp as the BMW 5 Series or Jaguar XE but it’s more fun to drive than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and more comfortable and luxurious than the Bimmer and Jag. So it’s the better blend comfort and composure than anything else in the segment.

When you combine that combination of driving attributes with its fantastic interior and super luxury, the Audi A6 becomes quite possibly the car to have in the segment. Which is why it’s a Carwow Car of the Year contender.

The other cars in the group are varied, as it’s not just a bunch of expensive luxury cars. The Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Skoda Karoq, Ford Focus and Volkswagen Polo are also in contention. Of those cars, the Audi A6 is clearly the most expensive, which actually hurts its chances, as price is considered in the competition. So can it win? We’ll have to wait and see.
