We recently just learned that ABT Sportsline would be making another 50 examples of its Audi RS4+ Avant, after the first 50 sold out faster than customers could input their credit card info. The RS4+ is a highly tuned, much more aggressive version of the standard car and it both looks and sounds it. So when Auditography took one to the Austrian Alps for a video shoot, we take a look.
Up in the snow Alps of Austria, the bright red Audi RS4+ Avant is an absolute beast. On the packed snow, even with Quattro all-wheel drive traction, its 523 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque struggles to find traction. So in the first launch we see, it gets sideways through more than just first gear. It’s really fun to watch.
One of the big additions to the Audi RS4+ from the standard car is its exhaust system. Rather than the large dual oval pipes, the ABT Sportsline car gets quad pipes, like an Audi ‘S’ car. But they sound better than the standard ones fitted to the regular RS. In this video, we get to hear it in action and while it isn’t all that different sounding, it’s louder and angrier.
Of course, in typical Auditography fashion, this video is beautifully shot. Slow, sweeping shots of both the exterior and interior, along with the stunning snow background, make this video pure eye-candy. The bright red paint in contrast with the white snow is superb looking and the scenery is breathtaking.
Unfortunately, we don’t live in Europe, so we don’t get the ability to drive the Audi RS4 Avant on our home soil. But if we did, taking an ABT-tuned Audi RS4+ Avant to some snowy mountain roads would be at the top of our to-do list. Maybe we’ll just have to wait for the Audi RS6.
