Despite having an engine that displaces less than three liters, the Audi TT RS is already a brutally fast car to begin with. Its stock 2.5 liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine makes 400 hp and, when paired with its seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and all-wheel drive, it’s capable of getting from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds. So it’s damn quick. However, the folks at ABT Sportline have added some oomph to the TT RS, making it even faster.
In this new video from AutoTopNL, we take a look at a launch and acceleration run in an ABT-tuned Audi TT RS. Said tuned TT RS supposedly makes 500 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. From a standstill, the tuned TT RS is capable of getting from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in about 3.4 seconds, which is absurdly fast for something so small. One must remember that this TT RS has a smaller engine than a Toyota Camry V6. And it’s supercar fast. That’s madness.
Acceleration isn’t the only thing tested in this video, though. The ABT-tuned Audi TT RS also does a top speed run, getting to 276 km/h (171 mph), which is impressive. What’s more imrpessive, though, is how easily it does it and how effortlessly. That punchy five-pot just throws the TT RS down the road.
But the best part about this Audi TT RS build is the fact that it still sounds very much like a proper TT RS. That oddly delightful five-cylinder growl is still present and sounds great from the outside. From inside the cabin, it’s a bit too muted but that’s perfectly fine, as so many tuned exhausts can drone inside the car. That odd firing order noise is still present and sounds fantastic.
If you’re the sort of lunatic that thinks the Audi TT RS needs more power, it seems like the people at ABT Sportline know how to do it.
