We all know that the, new for 2015, Audi R8 is a rapid machine. With a 610 hp 5.2 liter V10 engine, the second-gen Audi R8 can go from 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds and on to 100 mph in 7 seconds flat. That’s properly quick and makes the Audi R8 V10 Plus one of the fastest supercars on the planet. However, there are some that best it still.
The McLaren 650S is a supercar known to be one of the fastest in the world. It absolutely demolishes pretty much everything in its path. It’s monstrously fast, eating cars like the Ferrari 458 Italia and Lamborghini Huracan for lunch. It’s devilish 666 hp twin-turbocharged 3.8 liter V8 engine can send the McLaren to 60 mph in a simply ridiculous 2.7 seconds and on to 100 mph in 5.7. It’s simply ridiculous.
It would seem like the McLaren would leave the Audi for dead, in terms of speed. And maybe that’s the case. But the folks at Options Auto have a video of both cars doing the 0-200 km/h (124mph) sprint. The video shows the sprint from the speedometers to show just how rapid the numbers tick away. The race is closer than you’d think, so check it out.
