The UK-spec Audi A3 Cabriolet is being feature in a new video on YouTube released by the company’s United Kingdom division. The current generation of this model came out back in September 2013 at the Frankfurt Motor Show where we found out the vehicle is bigger than its predecessor as length has increased from 4.24 meters to 4.42 meters while width has gone up from 1.77 meters to 1.79 meters.
Moreover, Audi’s engineers decided to stretch the wheelbase from 2.58 meters to 2.60 meters while reducing the height by 15mm to 1.41 meters Compared to the older model, the new open-top convertible is 50 kg (110 lbs) lighter and offers an additional 60 liters of trunk space. Its soft cloth roof can be opened/closed in just 18 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h (31 mph) and there’s also an optional acoustic top benefiting from a thicker inner foam layer which will enable a quieter cabin.
Seen in this video is a UK-spec Audi A3 Cabriolet equipped with the quattro all-wheel drive system, alloys and a 5.8-inch retractable display. Engine choices are quite vast as the model can be configured with a 140 PS 1.4 TFSI, a 180 PS 1.8 TFSI and a 150 PS 2.0 TDI. Audi is also offering a lesser 1.6 TDI rated at 110 PS and a range-topping 300 PS 2.0 TFSI in the S3 Cabriolet. It should be mentioned not all these engines are available for the UK-spec Audi A3 Cabriolet featured in the video.
