The three-cylinder Audi A1 facelift is now available in United Kingdom where it kicks off at £14,315 OTR. The 1.0 TFSI turbocharged gasoline motor serves as a replacement for the 89 HP 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine and despite its lower displacement it manages to be more powerful as output stands at 95 HP. When mated to the standard five-speed manual gearbox, the city car will hit 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in 10.9 seconds in both three-door and five-door Sportback guises.
At an additional cost, the three-cylinder engine can be paired with an optional seven-speed dual-clutch S tronic transmission which doesn’t affect acceleration time while top speed stands at 116 mph (187 km/h) in all configurations.
More importantly, the three-cylinder Audi A1 facelift in both body styles returns up to 67.3 mpg UK with the manual and 64.2 mpg UK with the S tronic, with corresponding CO2 emissions of 97 g/km and 102 g/km, respectively.

UK customers can order the 1.0 TFSI engine only in the SE or Sport trims which both come with remote central locking, alloy wheels, AC, electric mirrors and front windows, 6-speaker sound system with AUX & iPod connectivity and a 6.5-inch retractable display. Also standard is a secondary collision brake assist system which can automatically engage the car’s brakes to diminish the risk of a collision.
