Back in November 2013, the plant in Gyor built the 500,000th TT and it was powered by the 25 millionth engine, a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder motor. That engine also powers the third generation Audi TT where it offers 230 PS in the standard model and 310 PS in the TT-S. There’s also a third engine option in the form of a 2.0 TDI rated at 184 PS.

Front-wheel drive is standard on the third generation Audi TT but a quattro system is optionally available and comes as standard on the hotter TT-S, allowing the model to complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 4.7 seconds when configured with the S tronic transmission available at an additional cost. The diesel variant runs the sprint in 7.2 seconds and can hit a top speed of 146 mph whereas the TT-S is electronically-limited at 155 mph.
