A few weeks back, famous German tuner ABT Sportsline teased its Audi RS6 Avant project. In the teaser sketches they released, the RS6 looked beefier, angrier and meaner. We were obviously very excited. Now, though, it’s here and it looks every bit as mean as we were hoping it would. Oh, and it also packs 700 hp.
It all starts under the hood. The folks at ABT Sportsline have taken the 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 from the Audi RS6 Avant and given it their ABT Power Performance Package upgrade, bumping power up from 591 hp to 700 hp and torque up from 590 lb-ft to 650 lb-ft (880 Nm). So it’s seriously, monstrously powerful. What’s crazy is that the stock RS6 can just about break into the high two-second to 60 mph range. With this much power, it will likely do it.
In addition to all of that power, ABT gave the Audi RS6 Avant some visual upgrades as well. It gets a new front lip, new black wheels and a lowered ride height. It doesn’t look all that different from the standard car but don’t fix what ain’t broke, am I right?
The real upgrade here is under the hood, that’s what you’re paying for. While the Audi RS6 Avant is fast enough for any enthusiast, just the idea of having even more is so exciting. Especially when you know it can handle so much more. Thanks to its tenacious Quattro all-wheel drive grip and capable chassis, this new RS6 can handle a lot more than just its 591 hp.
It’s not just the Audi RS6 Avant, though. ABT Sportsline has given every other Audi with this same engine the same treatment. So you can get both an Audi RS7 Sportback and RS Q8 with this same tune and same level of power. Still, you should get the RS6 Avant because, ya know… wagon.
