We all know a third Audi e-tron model is on its way, to compliment the e-tron SUV and e-tron GT the brand has already unveiled. Though, there’s still a bit of mystery as to what sort of vehicle it will be. It will obviously be all-electric but there’s some uncertainty to what sort of body style it will have and what it will be called. Though, Audi did tease a Q4 e-tron concept that is said to debut at the upcoming 2019 Geneva Motor Show. So it’s possible that the car we see in these new spy photos is exactly that. (We don’t own the spy photos but you can see them here)
In these photos, we clearly see some sort of Audi coupe-like SUV. It has similar styling to both the Audi e-tron SUV and the new Audi Q3, but its roofline is more aggressively raked than either of those cars. It’s clearly some sort of sporty coupe SUV in the same vein as the Audi Q8, or even BMW X4/Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. Which is why we think it’s the upcoming Audi Q4 e-tron. It also looks like the concept drawings Audi revealed last week.
It’s also undoubtedly an e-tron model. Its wheels are similar to the e-tron SUV, its Singleframe grille is mostly closed, it lacks exhaust pipes and it has the little side camera mirrors first seen on the e-tron SUV. So it’s clearly electric and not just a regular Q4.
While we can’t be certain that it’s the upcoming Audi Q4 e-tron, odds are pretty good that’s what it is. It has all of the ingredients to be just that and the brand is currently working on one and a concept version is set to debut in Geneva. Expect the concept to be a very production-ready concept, much like the actual e-tron SUV was and like the e-tron GT was as well. Either way, we’ll find out for sure in a month or so.
