We’ve seen quite a few spy photos of the upcoming next-gen Audi A3 already. So far, it’s looking really good and it seems more premium than the current car. This, though, is the first time we’re seeing the next-gen Audi RS3 Sportback in photos and it looks great. (We don’t own the spy photos but they can be seen here)
Just like the standard A3 we’ve seen spied, this new Audi RS3 looks more premium and even sportier than the current car. It’s low, wide and aggressive and looks like a proper Audi Sport car. Obviously, we’re only going off of camouflaged photos, so we can’t make out details but we can get an idea of its overall shape and some styling cues. And from what we can tell, the new RS3 is shaping up to look good.
Also, are those B7 Audi RS4 wheels, only painted black, on the front axle? If so, that’s awesome. They’re almost certainly not for production use but instead just for testing but it’s still cool to see them on a modern car. They look good, too. Audi should bring them back because they seem to work well with this new design language and they’re some of Audi’s best. Plus, they’d make the Audi RS3 that much more desirable for Audi enthusiasts.
We can’t wait for this car. It’s not known yet which engine will power the next-gen Audi RS3 but it’s likely to be some newly updated version of the 2.5 liter turbocharged four-cylinder currently powering the existing RS3. It will likely make more power than the current car’s 400 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque, too. That sort of powertrain combined with its new good looks and updated interior could make for one of the best all-around hot-hatches on the planet when it finally debuts.
