At the moment, the Audi TT is one of the best looking sports cars in its segment. It’s sharp, small and stylish and is almost unanimously liked by car enthusiasts, even if just for its style. We think it’s the best car in its class, with the aging but still very pretty BMW Z4 coming in as a close second. Having said that, it’s not going to stay pretty forever, nor is its technology and performance going to remain competitive. Especially with newer competition on the way. So Audi is working on a new, facelifted version of the Audi TT and it’s just been caught doing some winter testing in the snow. (We don’t own the spy photos but they can be seen here)
In these photos, we can see that this new Audi TT is seemingly wearing some new headlights. The front lamps look slimmer and feature a new light design inside of them. They don’t look drastically different, though, and you’ll be hard-pressed to spot the differences without looking at a side-by-side comparison. Out back and down the side, though, there’s virtually no change, which makes it even more difficult to tell apart from its soon-to-be-replaced sibling.
Admittedly, the Audi TT was already such a good looking car, so it didn’t need much refreshing. Still, though, Audi should have taken a bit more chances with it, as it’s going to be taking on a new competitor soon, one that looks like it will be very good — the new BMW Z4. The new Z4 is lighter, faster and sharper than the old car and, judging from spy photos, looks very pretty.
It’s good that it won’t look too different from the already very pretty TT but it would have been nice to see a bit more risk-taking from Audi in its new design.
