This current generation of Audi S3 Sportback is an incredibly popular car. Thanks to its punchy performance, good looks, sharp interior and surprising practicality, it’s hard to beat as a daily driver. Yet, it’s an aging car and one that’s now one of the oldest in the segment. With the new BMW 1 Series and Mercedes-Benz A-Class, the Audi S3 needs a bit of an update. Which is why and all new model is in the works and it’s just been caught testing. (We don’t own the spy photos but they can be seen here)
In these new photos, the upcoming Audi S3 Sportback looks even better than the current car and it’s still wrapped in camouflage. Despite its camo, there’s a lot we can make out here. For instance, its new Singleframe grille is shorter and wider than before, much like most new Audi products, and that makes its front end look lower and sportier. It also gets sharper headlights and more aggressive front air intakes.
Down the side, it gets more sculpted body lines and more muscular rear haunches. These are subtle changes but they end up making a big difference, as the current S3 is a handsome car but a bit slab-sided. This new one looks more muscular and sportier.
At the back, the taillights are almost entirely covered in camouflage, so we can’t see them. However, we can see the roof spoiler and the classic quad exhausts, both of which look great.
We’re very excited to see what Audi has in store for the new generation of Audi S3. The current car is already one of the best daily sports cars on the market and this new one should be even better. Though, it’s going to need to be, as its competition is better than ever, too.
