We just recently spoke about how the upcoming Audi A5 would be unveiled in the next few weeks and how it should carry on Walter de Silva’s incredible design language, with a bit of Audi’s new stuff mixed in. Even though Audi is hard at work on this new A5, it still has time to work on its high-performance variant, the Audi RS5.
The people at GTSpirit have attained some spy photos of the upcoming Audi RS5 testing at the Nurburgring. While it’s in heavy camouflage and there’s not much we can make out, it certainly does look like an RS5. The quad tailpipes, the big RS-looking wheels and the muscular low stance all make this seem like a full RS model.
One thing we really like about this new Audi A5 is that it still seems to have the same overall shape and profile as the current model. While staying the same is never really a compliment in the auto industry, Walter de Silva’s Audi A5 design is too good looking to stray away from. It’s simply a gorgeous car and this new model seems to have much of the same styling cues. The muscular rear end and massive C-pillar are still there, as is the overall profile. However, we can clearly see the addition of Audi’s new familial 3D grille and headlights similar to the new Audi A4’s.
While we don’t have the pictures ourselves, you can check them out here, at GTSpirit. We’re really excited to see the new Audi A5, but we’re even more excited to see what the next Audi RS5 will look like.
