A pre-production unit of the second generation Audi R8 V10 was seen recently in Germany with an all Mythos Black paint also applied onto the side blades. The attached images were taken by an Autogespot user with a handy smartphone in Karlsruhe, Germany and show the car’s evolutionary design although the black look kind of makes some of the design lines hard to identify which shouldn’t come as a surprise since black does that to most cars.
This is the entry-level V10 version so the ten-cylinder engine mounted in the back generates 540 PS (397 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) sent to the quattro permanent AWD system with help from an S tronic seven-speed gearbox. This hardware setup is good enough for a 0-100 km/h run in 3.5 seconds and a 330 km/h top speed while fuel consumption stands at a rather decent 11.8 liters / 100 km, with corresponding CO2 emissions of 275 g/km.
This particular car has the standard LED headlights and comes with the optional five-arm 19-inch twin-spoke alloys featuring a glossy anthracite black look. The wheels cost an extra €1,000 and are shod in 245/35 R19 front tires and 295/ R19 rubbers at the back.
Audi has commenced deliveries of the new R8 in Europe recently, so we should see more and more customer cars in the weeks to come.
