The second generation Audi R8 is now available on order across Europe in both V10 and V10 Plus guises. Deliveries of the supercar are programmed to kick off sometime this fall for those willing to pay at least the starting price of €165,000 for the base R8 V10 whereas the R8 V10 Plus costs €187,400. The latter is actually Audi’s fastest and most powerful production model ever made thanks to an uprated version of the V10 5.2 normally aspirated engine that now delivers 610 bhp.
In Plus guise, the 2015 Audi R8 needs just 3.2 seconds to get from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) and can achieve a top speed of 205.1 mph (330 km/h) It comes with the firm’s drive select system which will enable the driver to “coordinate driving dynamics parameters to the friction value and condition of the road.”
We remind you the first generation Audi R8 went on sale back in 2007 and since then the Volkswagen-owned premium marque has managed to sell almost 27,000 units.
An R8 e-tron fully electric version is set to join the range later this year at an undisclosed price tag and it will be available as a built to order model.
